A woman was hacked to death and another injured by some unidentified miscreants in the city’s Jatrabari area on Saturday night over previous enmity.
The deceased has been identified as Shilpi Akter, 30. The victim’s sister-in-law Parul Begum, 25, was admitted to the Dhaka Medical College and Hospital in a critical condition, said Anisur Rahman,
Officer-in-Charge of Jatrabari Police Station.
A gang of three persons went to their rented flat on the 5th floor at Rasulpur of Dhonia and charged them with sharp weapons around 12:20am, police said quoting Parul.
Police are investigating the incident and picked up a man for interrogation in this connection, the OC said, adding that filing of a case is under process with the police station.
The body has been sent to the DMCH morgue for an autopsy.
