A eight-month pregnant woman was hacked to death by her step-son over a family feud in the city’s Kamrangirchar on Wednesday evening.
The victim has been identified as Bilkis Begum, 26, said Sheikh Mohsin Alam, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Kamrangirchar Police Station.
Police have arrested step-son Rabiul, 18, in this connection, the OC said.
The police official said, “Bilkis had quarrel with Rabiul over a family feud at Hujur Para of Kamrangirchar around 6:00pm. At one stage, Rabiul hacked her mother with a sharp sword.”
Rabiul was caught by locals, when he was escaping the scene. He was later handed over to police, the police official said.
The body was sent to Sir Salimullah Medical College and Mitford Hospital, he said.
