A woman was found dead in her residence at Majidpur in Savar Municipality in Dhaka district on Tuesday morning. The deceased has been identified as Jamila Khatun, 27, wife of Razzak Joarder, police said.
Quoting the locals, the Savar Police Station’s Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mostafa Kamal said that Jamila and Razzak starting living there for few days ago. The locals found the body in her room and informed the police.
“The reason behind her death could not be known instantly. It is still uncertain whether it is a suicide or a murder,” he added.
The OC said that, the body had been sent to Dhaka Medical College and Hopital morgue for autopsy.
Jamila had engaged in an extra-marital affair with a local youth, suspected the people.
However, Razzak claimed that the owner of the house and the youth killed his wife. He was not in the house when the incident occurred.
He also alleged that Sharif Paloan was supporting the youth despite his repeated complain.
