Woman found dead in Habiganj

A restaurant worker, a woman in her thirties, was found dead in her house in Habiganj on Wednesday morning.
Police, following primary inquiry, said Rina Ahktar might be killed by her husband Farid Mia at Chunarughat in Sylhet.
Local people said that Rina had been living at a house at the Chunarughat upazila headquarter with her husband for several months and she was working at a restaurant at Balla Road there.
The restaurant owner sent an employee to call Rina out of her house at about 9:30am as she was absent in her workplace.
Rina usually goes to the restaurant at 8:00am every day.
Chunarughat police officer-in-charge Azmiruzzaman told that the restaurant authorities called them and informed that they were not getting any response after calling Rina for hours.
Police went to Rina’s house and found her dead as they broke open the door.
They sent the body to Habiganj Sadar Adhunik Hospital morgue for post-mortem examination.
Quoting locals, OC Azmiruzzaman said Farid was used to quarrel with his wife very often on various reasons.
ÔWe suspect that Rima might have been killed by her husband as signs of injury was found around Rina’s neck and her husband is also absconded since the incident took place,’ he added.
