Woman electrocuted while rescuing son

A woman was died from electrocution while trying to rescue her son in the capital’s Bangshal area on Monday afternoon.
The victim has been identified as Kajal Rani, 40, inhabitant in the area.
Quoting the family members, Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) Police Outpost’s Sub-Inspector (SI) Sentu Chandra Das said that
 Kajal’s four-year-old son Biplob came in contact with a live electric wire while playing outside their house on Najimuddin Road in the capital. Following the information, Kajal rushed in and rescued Biplob. But she also came in contact with the electric wire.
Local people recovered the mother and the son and sent them to DMCH where on-duty doctors declared Kajal dead around 4:00pm, the police official said.
“Biplob is undergoing treatment at the DMCH,” the SI said.
The body had kept the hospital morgue for autopsy, he said.
