Woman died and four others injured after three-wheeler plunged to roadside ditch on Saturday night.
The dead victim was a mentally unbalanced pedestrian woman aged around 55 years and till this report was not identified.
Khalilur Rahman, officer in charge of Banaripra police station under Barishal district, said a three-wheeler plying on Barishal-Banaripara route while crossing Malonga area of the upazila at about 7 pm on Saturday night, the mentally unbalanced pedestrian woman came in front of the vehicle.
The driver of the transport hitting her losing control over the vehicle plunged to roadside ditch.
Local people rushed to the spot operating rescue operation recovering the woman and other four passengers of the vehicle brought to Banaripara upazila health complex.
The attending doctor of the health complex declared the woman as dead and released other injured passengers after giving treatment, the police sources said.
Police preparing to send the body of the dead victim to Barishal Sher E Bangla Medical College Hospital for autopsy after completing legal procedure and trying to recover her identification, the OC added on Sunday morning.
