A woman and her daughter were hacked to death in Kapasia upazila of the district on Monday night. The deceased were identified as Surjo Banu, 75, and Mabia, 40, residents of Pabur village of the same upazila. Informed by locals, police rushed to the spot and sent the bodies to Gazipur Shahid Taz Uddin Ahmed Medical College Hospital for autopsy. Police and locals said miscreants hacked them to death in the dead of night. But the reason behind the murder could not be known immediately, added police. — Gazipur, Mar 31 (UNB)
