A woman has beaten to death in a trivial incident in Jashore. The incident took place at Balia Vekutia village in Jashore Sadar upazila on yesterday (Monday) night.
The deceased was identified as Benu Begum 50 wife of Basarat Hossain of Vekutia village.
Benu Begum’s brother Atiqur Rahman said that his sister’s family always had disputes over trivial incidents.
Selim’s wife Abeda Khatun had an argument with Benu Begum about throwing tissue paper at the family graveyard on Monday night. At one stage Abeda hit Benu’s chest with a brick. She was seriously injured.
She was later rescued and sent to Jashore General Hospital, where an emergency department doctor declared her dead.
