A woman was beaten to death allegedly by her son-in-law at Chapapukur village in Bagatipara upazila on Wednesday night.
The deceased was identified as Rawshan Ara.
Quoting family members, police said an altercation ensued between Sadek Ali, a resident of Chapapukur village in Bagatipara upazila, and his wife Sohagi over a family feud at night.
At one stage of altercation, Sadek beat up Sohagi mercilessly.
Sadek also hit Rawshan Ara while she tried to resist her daughter Sohagi, leaving her dead on the spot.
Hearing hue and cry, local people rushed in and caught Sadek after a hot chase and handed him over to police.
Police recovered the body and sent it to Natore Sadar Hosptial morgue for an autopsy.
