Roger Latchman, Deputy Chairman, World Information Technology and Services Alliance (WITSA) visited Daffodil International University (DIU) on Sunday.
Md Sabur Khan, Chairman, Board of Trustees, DIU and Chairman, Global Trade Committee of WITSA welcomes him at DIU. Prof Dr M Lutfar Rahman, Vice-chancellor, Prof Dr M Golam Rahman, Pro VC, Prof Dr Engr A K M Fazlul Haque, Registrar, Dr Mostafa Kamal, Director (Permanent Campus), Dr Md Fokhray Hossain, Director (International Affairs) of DIU were also present during his visit.
Roger Latchman was given a brief presentation on DIU and he expressed his great satisfaction on digitalization of academic and administrative activities.
It may be mentioned here that Daffodil International University (DIU) had been honored with Merit Award in WITSA 2014 Global ICT Excellence Awards. World Information Technology and Services Alliance (WITSA), the largest international ICT organization had conferred the award in World Congress on Information Technology 2014 (WCIT 2014) at the WCIT 2014 on September 30, 2014 at in Guadalajara, Mexico.
DIU is the first ever university in Bangladesh to win the award which is said as the Nobel award for ICT sector worldwide.
The members autonomously nominated DIU as the most qualified candidates considering the criteria such as, demonstration of the effectiveness of the use of ICT; approximate number of people benefiting from the application of ICT, degree of effectiveness of ICT; and, level of innovation used in implementing ICT application, etc.
