The deadline for the withdrawal of candidature in three city corporations’ elections, slated for April 28, expires at 5pm on Thursday.As per the election schedules announced for the three corporations, the last date for withdrawal of candidature is April 9.Meanwhile, the election symbols will be allocated among mayoral, general councillor and female (reserved seat) councillor candidates on Friday in the Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) and Besides, some 1500 general councillor and female councillor (reserved seat) candidates are contesting the elections to three city corporations in Dhaka and Chittagong.Earlier, a total of 1833 aspirants submitted their nomination papers within the deadline of March 29. The nomination papers were scrutinised on April 1 and 2.On March 18, Chief Election Commissioner Kazi Rakibuddin Ahmed announced election schedules for the city polls.
