Winning start for Mohammedan in DPL

Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited got off to a good start in the Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League beating Brothers Union Club by 78 runs in their opening match held on Sunday at the Sher-e-
Bangla National Cricket Stadium at Mirpur.
Put to bat first by Brothers Union, Mohammedan managed to score a challenging total of 285 for 6 from their allotted 50 overs with Mushfiqur Rahim making 72 runs and Sri Lankan recruit Tharanga scoring 70 runs.
Mohammad Shaheed and Asif Hasan bagged two wickets each for Brothers Union Club.
In reply, Brothers Union Club found the chase stiff as they dismissed at 217 in 49.5 overs.
Zakir Hasan top scored with 61 runs while Nafees Iqbal added 26.
