Will focus on school, district football if elected: Salam Murshedy

Kazi Mohammad Salahuddin-led panel has promised to give priority to school and district football if it wins the upcoming Bangladesh Football Federation election slated for April 30.
“If we’re elected again, we’ll attach priority to school and district football for the development of game,” said sitting BFF Senior Vice-president Abdus Salam Murshedy on Monday.
Murshedy, who is again contesting for his previous post in the ensuing election, was talking to reporters after submitting nomination papers of their 22-member panel at the BFF House.
Admitting that they might have some lapses in the previous two terms, Murshedy said, “But we tried our best to keep the football in field round the year arranging local and international football tournaments.”
He expected that the 134 councilors will evaluate their previous performance giving their mandates in the election.
Kazi Salauddin, Kazi Nabil Ahmed, MP, Shamsul Haque Chowdhury, MP and secretary general of the District and Divisional Sports Organisers Forum Ashikur Rahman Miku were present during the submission of nomination papers.
Sitting BFF president Salahuddin is going to contest the election for the president post for the 3rd consecutive term.
The Salahuddin-led panel submitted 22 nomination papers against 21 posts of the BFF Executive Committee.
Meanwhile, one of the member candidates will withdraw the candidature by April 20.

Vice-presidents: Kazi Nabil Ahmed, Badal Roy, Shamsul Haque Chowdhury and Mohiuddin Mahi.
Executive Committee members: Harun-Ur-Rashid, Amirul Islam Babu, Satyjit Das Rupu, Fazlur Rahman Babul, Elias Hossain, Saleh Zaman Selim, Shawkat Ali Khan Jahangir, Mahfuza Akhter Kiron, Mohiuddin Ahmed Selim, Tawfikul Islam Tofa, Arif Hossain Moon, Ajmal Ahmad Tapan, Amit Khan Suvro, Abdur Rahim, Alamgir Khan Alo and Sheikh Nizam Uddin.
Meanwhile, a total of 58 candidates — 4 for president, 4 for senior vice-president, 11 for vice-president posts, and 39 for Executive Committee members — submitted their nomination papers on Monday.
