A housewife was killed by the attack of wild elephants at West Bakakura in Jhenaigati upazila of Sherpur on Monday night.
The deceased was identified as Tibiron Beuwa(55), wife of late Hazrat Ali at West Bakakura in Jhenaigati of the district.
Sources said a herd of 30/40 wild elephants came down at locality from the hill to damage the paddy field. People of that area tried to chase the elephants. But one of the elephants squeezed Tibiron Beuwa and she died on spot.
Officer in charge of Jhenaigati thana Md Mizanur Rahman confirmed about it.
