One person was killed by the attack of wild elephants at Gozni in Jhenaigati upazila of Sherpur district on Saturday midnight.
The deceased was identified as Poludaf (35) son of Ronen Kubil at Suto Gozni in Jhenaigati of the district.
Sources said a herd of wild elephants came down at locality from the hill in search of food and to damage the paddy field. People of that area tried to chase the elephants. But one of the elephants squeezed Poludaf and he died on spot.
Officer in charge of Jhenaigati thana Biplob Kumar Biswas confirmed about it.
