A woman was stabbed to death allegedly by her husband at Sreedora village in Bianibazar upazila of Sylhet district on Sunday Evening.
The deceased was identified as Ayesha Begum, 28, wife of Siddik Ahmed, a resident of the village.
Juber Ahmed, officer in-charge of Bianibazar Police Station, Confirmed the matter and said, police recovered the body and sent it to Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital for autopsy. Police also arrested Siddik in this connection. “During primary investigation, Siddik confessed that he stabbed Ayesha,” the OC added.
Family members claimed that Siddik was a mentally ill person.

Members of Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) arrested a drug trader in the Bharthokhola Railway Station area Under Sylhet City Saturday night.
Acting of a tip-off, a team of the elite force arrested Atikur Rahman, 35, at Bharthokola around 11:35pm on Saturday night. They also recovered the yaba tablets from the possession of Atik, the Rab official said.
