Khadiza Begum (24), wife of younger brother Abul Kasem Mallik was killed on the spot by the drunkard elder brother Kamal Mallik (44) of village Naldha under Fakirhat Upazila in Bagerhat district recently.
Police and the locals said, at noon when deceased Khadija Begum was cooking in the open yard of the house drunkard elder brother of her husband Kamal Mallik appeared there and placed an evil proposal to her. Khadiza took it seriously and then and then she disclosed it to her mother-in-law Hasina Begum. She rebuked her elder son seriously. But the drunkard (Kamal Mallik) became furious and hit a severe blow on the head of Khadiza with a heavy a lethal weapon. As result, she sustained fatal injuries and died on the spot. Just after the incident the killer Kamal went into hide.
Being informed of the matter Md. Mizanur Rahman, Assistant Police Super of Fakirhat, Abu Zahid, Officer-in-charge of Fakirhat PS and the Officer-in-charge of the local police outpost visited the place of occurrence, recovered the dead body and sent the same for autopsy. Later police arrested killer Kamal Mallik with the help of the villagers. In this connection a murder case was registered with Fakirhat PS.
