A house wife was killed and her husband sustained injuries when they were electrocuted at a village in Kaliganj upazila of Jhenaidah on Saturday morning.
The deceased was identified as Shampa Khatun, 23, daughter of Moslem Uddin and wife of Rana Ahmed of Patibila village of Kaliganj upazila under Jhenaidah.
The family members and police said, both Shampa and Rana were sleeping in the house. In the morning of Saturday at about 5.30, when Shmapa tried to put an electricity switch off, was caught. As her husband Rana came forward to rescue her, was also electrocuted. Both of them were rushed to Upazila Health Complex at Kaliganj.
The attending physician declared Shampa dead. Rana was under going treatment . Kaliganj police station officer in charge Aminul Islam when contacted said, they filed an unnatural death case following the incident.
