A newly married wife named Dony Aktar Mim (18) was allegedly killed by her husband Shahadat Hossain in the village Chanderhat under Mollahat Upazila in Bagerhat district on Saturday evening, according to a delayed report received here. In this connection Marjina Begum, mother of the deceased registered a case with Mollahat PS on Sunday against husband Shahadat Hossain, Kamana Begum, wife of his elder brother and his brother-in-law Litu.
It is learnt from Marjina Begum that Dony Aktar Mim, daughter of one Ansur Rahman of Koira Upazila in Khulna district was given married to Shahadat Hossain, son of one Dhalu Shaikh of village Chanderhat under Mollahat in Bagerhat district only 4 months ago. But following an illicit relation between Shahadat and Kamana Begum, wife his elder brother quarrel used take place between Dony Aktar and Kamana Begum very often. The matter was brought to the notice of Marjina Begum by her daughter. In spite of that she (Dony) was living with her husband. On the day of occurrence at noon she went out of her house for half an hour. But after returning home she found her husband and Kamana Begum (wife of his elder brother) in an obnoxious position and made a hue and cry loudly. As a result, the husband became furious, beat her (Dony) mercilessly and at one stage she expired. Later he poured poison in her mouth and declared his wife had committed suicide by taking poison.
