A 19-year-old housewife was allegedly hacked to death by her husband in the capital’s Mohammadpur early Tuesday. The incident occurred around 3:30am.
Mohammadpur Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Ganesh Gopal Biswas confirmed the matter to media that victim Sharmin Akhter succumbed to injuries shortly after being rushed to National Institute of Traumatology and Orthopaedic Rehabilitation (NITOR) in Sher-e-Bangla Nagar with critical injuries.
Khokon, a CNG auto-rickshaw driver hacked Sharmin indiscriminately with sharp weapon, at
their rented residence beside Krishi Market, over family dispute, OC Ganesh Gopal said.
Khokon went into hiding after the incident. Drives are on to nab him.
The body was sent to Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College Hospital for an autopsy, added the OC.
