A housewife was beaten to death allegedly by her husband at Jhama village in Mohammadpur upazila on Friday.
The deceased was identified as Runa Khatun, 30, wife of Jahid Molla of the village. Quoting locals, Manirul Islam, officer-in-charge of Mohammadpur Police Station, said Jahid had married Runa Begum, daughter of Abdul Baki of Boalmari upazila in Faridpur district, 10 years back. The couple had three daughters. However, Jahid started torturing Runa for dowry since after some years of their marriage.
