A cruel husband mercilessly beat his wife with iron rod over trivial matter making her critically injured in Tuesday morning .
The victim later died in a Rangpur clinic at night.
The victim is identified as Parvin Akhtar (30), daughter of Mahabul Islam of Itakhola choudhury para village of sador upazila. She is a mother of two children.
Victim’s maternal uncle Asadul Huq informed that in morning of Monday, Parvin came to her parent’s house in Itakhola choudhury para village from her husband’s house in Chanderhat Borodanga village to attend the funeral of her maternal grand mother died previous night.
By this time her rickshaw puller husband Mofasser Hossain (40) who pulls rickshaw in Dhaka returns home in the same morning and found his wife not at home.
At this he became furious and went to his wife’s parent’s house without delay and took part in burial ceremony of the deceased.
At night of Tuesday Mofasser returned home with Parvin and engaged in hot altercation over trivial matter.
In continuation of the altercation, Mofasser started beating her wife mercilessly with iron rod in next morning (Tuesday) breaking bones of her leg and made her severely injured.
Mofasser and neighbours then brought her to Nilphamari hospital in critical condition where the doctors referred her to Rangpur medical college hospital as her condition deteriorating.
Later she was shifted to a private clinic from Rangpur medical college hospital where she died at late night (of Tuesday).
Relatives of the deceased detained Mofasser and handed over him to police of Nilphamari sador police station at noon of Wednesday.
The body of the deceased was sent to Nilphamari 100-bed hospital for post mortem.
Officer in charge of sador thana Babul Akhtar informed that the relatives of the deceased preparing to file a case in this connection.
