Actors have fans. And even actors are fans. That’s how Baahubali: The Beginning (2015) star Tamannaah Bhatia got to interact with a musician whom she admires and took up his dance challenge.
The French artist William Sami Etienne Grigahcine aka DJ Snake has a strong fan following in India, and he is fond of India, too, which is why he shot two of his popular tracks – Lean On and Magenta Riddim – in the country. What caught everyone’s attention sometime back is the social media conversation between DJ Snake and Tamannaah.
Recalling it, she says, “He’s such a talented artist. I had so much fun talking to him via Twitter. I missed meeting him when he was in India to shoot for his song. The fact that he liked Baahubali is what got us talking and then the dance challenge followed.”
It started with Tamannaah sending DJ Snake a copy of Baahubali 2: The Conclusion (2017), when he was shooting for Magenta Riddim in Telangana, Hyderabad, as she couldn’t meet him. The disc jockey, who enjoyed the film, tweeted about it; Tamannaah also tweeted about liking his new song. The friendly banter went on, until he presented her with the dance challenge, and asked her to match steps with Magenta Riddim. Tamannaah accepted the challenge, and her moves impressed Snake, who later shared the video and wrote: “From Paris to Bollywood…” and tagged the actor. The video went viral.
