The Boro rice, paddy and wheat procurement drive begins from today on May 1.
Around one lakh tonnes of paddy, 10 lakh tonnes of rice and one lakh tonnes of wheat will be procured during the four-month drive.
The paddy will be procured from the farmers while rice from the millers, said Md Ataur Rahman, joint secretary of the Ministry of Food.
Rice will be procured at Tk32 per kg, paddy at Tk22 kg and wheat at Tk28. The procurement price of rice, paddy and wheat was Tk31, Tk20 and Tk27 respectively, he said.
