When veteran actor Khalil Ullah Khan was taking preparation to share his most memorable moment in his life to the family members during that time he had to face the greatest shock of his life as the body of his elder son was brought to the house.
Khalil Ullah Khan’s son Al Amin Tareq Khan died of a sudden cardiac arrest at his own office in the city’s Mohammadpur area at 6:30pm. Tareq was 59. He left behind wife, one son and a daughter.
It may be mentioned that Khalil Ullah Khan received the Lifetime Achievement Award in the National Film Award 2012 from the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Saturday evening for his outstanding contribution in the field of acting.
Khalil had five sons and three daughters. His younger son Babu died in 1993. He still remembers this pain. On Saturday, he lost his elder son. While sharing his pains Khalil told this correspondent, “I am now realising the real picture of how happy and sorrow come together in our life simultaneously. I am really realising this true. I am really grateful to the Prime Minister, as she has taken initiative to ensure my treatment facilities till rest of my life. But I couldn’t meet my elder son after receiving the award. It will really give me a pain to me till death. Everybody pray for my son.”
Khalil’s son was buried after Johr prayer at Mohammadpur graveyard yesterday. Tareq completed B.Com and M.Com in Management from Dhaka University in 1975. Khalil got the National Film Award to act in late Alamgir Kumkum directed a movie titled Gunda.
