After being suspended from bowling in the Champions League Twenty20 (CLT20) over suspect action, the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) has withdrawn ace spinner Sunil Narine from the entire tour of India, ESPNCricinfo reported on Saturday.
In a press release on the decision, the WICB confirmed Narine’s withdrawal to give the spinner an “the opportunity to have his action assessed and plan his return to cricket”.
Though Narine’s ban is only limited to CLT20 and other BCCI-run domestic events like the IPL, the West Indies are taking no chances for their premier spinner risking an international ban and instead want to take remedial action in time.
