West Indies took 56-run lead in the first innings at lunch on the second day of the first Test against visiting Bangladesh at Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in North Sound, Antigua on Friday.
Bangladesh scored 103 runs in their first innings.
In reply, West Indies made 159 runs for the loss of three wickets before the lunch.
The home side resumed their first innings with the over-night score of 95 for the loss of two wickets.
Kraigg Brathwaite and Nkrumah Bonner restarted their first innings with the over-night score of 42 and 12 runs respectively.
Brathwaite and Bonner added 39 more runs in the third wicket stand on the second day as Bonner was bowled out by Shakib Al Hasan when
the hosts’ total was 134 for the loss of three wickets.
Bonner scored 33 from 96 deliveries featuring three fours. After Bonner’s dismissal, Brathwaite and Jermaine Blackwood contributed 25 runs for the unbroken fourth wicket partnership.
Brathwaite remained unbeaten with 75 runs. He hit eight fours in his 239-ball innings.
Blackwood remained unbeaten with nine runs.
Shakib Al Hasan got success with one wicket at the cost of 38 runs.
