AP, Colombo :West Indies left-arm spinner Jomel Warrican picked up four wickets in his maiden Test bowling spell as Sri Lanka was bowled out for 200 in its first innings on the opening day of the second Test on Thursday.In reply West Indies reached 17 for 1 when play stopped for bad light. Opener Shai Hope (4) was trapped lbw by seam bowler Dhammika Prasad.Kraigg Brathwaite and night watchman Devendra Bishoo were at the crease.Milinda Siriwardana top scored for Sri Lanka with 68, his maiden fifty in his second Test innings. However, the rest of the top order failed against a spirited West Indies pace attack, giving Sri Lanka captain Angelo Mathews cause to regret his decision to bat first on a seam-friendly pitch at P Sara Oval.Opener Kaushal Silva (0) was caught behind by Denesh Ramdin off Jerome Taylor’s bowling on just the fourth ball of the match. His opening partner Dimuth Karunaratne – lbw to Holder – and debutant Kusal Mendis – caught behind off Kemar Roach – were out for 13 runs each with the total on 34.Mathews was out minutes before lunch for 14, caught at slip by Braithwaite off captain Jason Holder as Sri Lanka was reduced to 59 for 4 at lunch.Siriwardana held the innings together somewhat with smaller partnerships. He faced 111 deliveries, hit six boundaries and two sixes.Rangana Herath, who was named vice-captain for the match, scored 26 not out.Warrican finished with 4 for 67 while Holder and Taylor picked up two wickets each. Sri Lanka dropped regular vice-captain Lahiru Thirimanne because of poor form and gave a maiden Test cap to Mendis. It also dropped off-spinner Tharindu Kaushal, who struggled for control in the first Test, and replaced him with Dilruwan Perera.Warrican was called up by the West Indies in place of seam bowler Shannon Gabriel.Sri Lanka leads the two-match series 1-0 after winning the first Test by an innings and six runs.
