Pakshi Divisional Authority of Western Railway has cancelled the weekly holiday of 11 trains to facilitate the movement of students participating in the Rajshahi University (RU) admission test. It has also decided to add new coaches in several trains for the admission aspirants to Rajshahi. Pakshi Railway Divisional Manager Shahidul Islam confirmed the matter on Sunday (24 July).
He said that it will reduce the suffering of the students who want to get admission on the one hand, and on the other hand it will be convenient for travel. As a result, the cost of transportation will also be reduced.
In this regard, Anwar, the divisional transport officer of Pakshi Railway, said that for the convenience of the participants in the examination, the weekly holiday of 11 trains running from Rajshahi to different parts of the country has been canceled from July 22 to July 27.
The trains include Intercity Silk City Express, Dhumketu Express, Padma Express, Banglabandha Express, Sagardari Express, Dhallachar Express, Tungipara Express, Rahanpur Commuter, Kapotaksh Express, Titumir Express and Madhumati Express.
Pakshi Railway Divisional Commercial Officer Nasir Uddin said that the sale of train tickets canceled on weekends is continuing as usual. Passengers can collect tickets through counter and online. Besides, arrangements have been made to add additional compartments in several trains for the convenience of passengers.
