In memory of eminent artisets, composers and musicians of the country,
a week-long discussion and cultural programme titled Smriti Sottwa Bhobisshyot has been organised by Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy (BSA) under the auspices of the Ministry
of Culture, said a press release.
The inaugural ceremony of the week-long programme was held on Wednesday at the National Music and Dance Centre auditorium of the BSA. Presided over by Director General of BSA Liaquat Ali Lucky, Secretary of BSA Md Asaduzzaman delivered honorary speech, while Director General of Bengal Foundation Luva Nahid Chowdhury, distinguished music director Sheikh Sadi Khan, Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Culture Sabiha Parveen were present as speakers on the occasion. Conducted by Leena Taposi Khan, the cultural programme started after the discussion.
In memory of Ustad Ayet Ali Khan, Ustad Ali Akbar Khan, Pandit Ravi Shankar and Ustad Alauddin Khan, classical music Sarod was played by Ilham Fuljhuri, Isra Fuljhuri and Md, Yusuf Khan, while Setar was by played Jyoti Banerjee. Instrumental music was performed by Tungtang, Rubab and Ashikur Rahman.
Started on June 8, the week-long programme will continue till June 15 at the same venue, said the organisers.
