A week long (18 to 24) Book Fair on the occasion of Amar Ekushey February and International Mother Language Day began at Shaheed Minar premises here on Tuesday. Organised by District Administration, Deputy Commissioner of Narsingdi Obaidul Azam inaugurated the fair as chief guest. Which was attended a number of different government officers.
The Deputy Commissioner while inaugurating the Book Fair said the Amar Ekushey Boi Mela dedicated to be language martyrs who laid down their lives for the sake of mother language in 1952, which is now the international Mother Language Day.
A total of 25 book stalls were setup in the Mela, open to all every day from 2 pm to 9 pm
