The met office yesterday predicted mainly dry weather elsewhere over the country with rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind at a few places.
“Rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at a few places over Chattogram division and at one or two places over Khulna, Barishal, Dhaka and Sylhet divisions. Weather may remain mainly dry elsewhere over the country”, said a met office release here yesterday.
Day and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country, it added.
A low pressure area has formed over East central Bay and adjoining area, extending its trough to North Bay. South-west monsoon has withdrawn from northern part of the country. Monsoon is less active over southern part of the country and weak over North Bay.
Country’s maximum temperature on Wednesday was recorded by 36.8 degree Celsius at Sylhet and minimum temperature yesterday was recorded by 23.8 degree Celsius at Tetulia. Maximum rainfall for the last twenty-four hours till 6:00am yesterday was recorded by 17 millimeters (mm) at Patuakhali.
