Sharmin Shahriar Ferdous, elder sister of Major (retd) Sinha Rashed Khan said they would be satisfied only after the execution of the verdict.
“Our expectations have been met to a large extent but we will be satisfied after the execution of the verdict,” she told reporters at the Cox’s Bazar court premises yesterday.
She said the seven persons who were acquitted have some sort of involvement in the murder and they would decide later on about filing an appeal against their release.
Advocate Faridul Alam, public prosecutor of Cox’s Bazar District and Sessions Judge’s Court, said, “We got our expected verdict, so we are satisfied.”
Several thousands of people gathered in the area when the court started reading out the verdict at 2:25pm, reports our Cox’s Bazar correspondent.
