Sports Reporter :
Captain of Bangladesh One Day International (ODI) Cricket team Tamim Iqbal said, ” We want to win over South Africa. We are now in a good position in ODI cricket. So, we think we have no alternate but to win against South Africa in the three-match ODI series. But it is a tough task. Our team’s record was not good there. But we have to change the record.”
Tamim said, ” It is challenging for us to win against South Africa. South Africa are good side in their conditions. We shall give our cent percent effort. We want to play good cricket there. We obviously want to win. We shall try to do everything to win against South Africa. We shall try hard to earn the result in favour of us.”
Tamim Iqbal is very much optimistic as they beat the Kiwis in a Test match in New Zealand recently. Tamim is desperate to do something well against South Africa.
Bangladesh Cricket team traveled in South Africa in 2002 and in 2017. Bangladesh played nine ODI matches and six Test matches against South Africa. But Bangladesh could not bring any win against South Africa.
Bangladesh will play three ODI matches against South Africa. All the matches are part of ICC ODI World Cup Super League. Bangladesh have taken the top spot with 100 points playing 15 ODI matches.
On the other hand, South Africa have earned 39 points from 10 matches. So, the winners of the ODI matches will bring a good position in the ICC ODI World Cup Super League.
The left-hand opener said, ” All the cricketers of our team believe that we can earn a good result against South Africa. We shall try our heart and soul to earn victory against South Africa. Then, I want to see what we can obtain. We want to increase our point in the ICC ODI World Cup Super League.”
Bangladesh Cricket team will leave the city for South Africa tomorrow. Bangladesh will take on South Africa in the first ODI on March 18, Bangladesh will face South Africa in the second ODI on March 20 and Bangladesh will meet South Africa in the third ODI on March 23.
