Captain of Bangladesh Hockey team Sarwar Hossain said, ” We want to bring a good result in the upcoming AHF Cup Hockey qualifiers.” The qualifiers will be held in Jakarta, the capital city of Indonesia from March 11 to March 20. Bangladesh Hockey team will leave the city today for Jakarta to take part in the hockey meet.
Bangladesh, Indonesia, Oman, Iran and Singapore are in Group-B.
Before leaving the country, the jersey-unveiling programme and official photo session was held at the Falcon Hall of Bangladesh Air Force in Dhaka Cantonment on Sunday.
Before taking part in the hockey meet, Bangladesh Hockey team took a good preparation under the Head Coach Malaysia-born Iman Gopinathan Krishnamurthy at the BKSP.
Sarwar said, ” We watched the video footage of the matches of India and Belgium. Then, we took our preparation. We took part in the coaching camp and tried to learn the formation of the video footage of the big teams.”
Bangladesh team will take on hosts Indonesia on March 11, play against Oman on March 14, face Iran on March 15 and meet Singapore on March 17.
The top three teams will get tickets of the Asia Cup Hockey, the most prestigious hockey competition of Asia.
It may be mentioned that Bangladesh are the defending champions of the hockey qualifiers.
