Today is first anniversary of death of legendary actor Khalil Ullah Khan. Khalil’s second son Musa Khan told this correspondent that different programmes are to be arranged to mark his father’s death anniversary who was also chief advisor of socio-cultural organisation, Shoishob Mela. President of Shoishob Mela Golam Kibria Apu told this correspondent, “We are going to organise a rally in Mohammadpur area and other programmes not only to pay tribute to this legendary actor but also to show an honour to a full-fledged gentle person. Everybody pray for him.
It may be mentioned that Khalil got the Lifetime Achievement Award in the National Film Award in 2012.
Khalil had acted in more than 800 films. To act in movie Gunda, directed by Alamgir Kumkum and produced by film actress Kobori, he got the National Film Award.
Khalil’s acted first film was Sonar Kajol, jointly directed by Zahir Raihan and Kalim Sharafee. He acted in role of hero in that film.
Therefore, as a hero he also acted in movies Jangli Phul, Preet Jane Na Reet, Begana, etc. In SM Parvez directed movie Begana, for the first time Khalil acted in role of a villain. Although he did not give any direction but he produced only two movies before death. One was Sipahi and another was Ei Ghor Ei Sangsar.
