WE (We are the Earth), a private voluntary organization, honoured 10 women freedom fighters with Eid gifts in the city’s Kobita Cafe auditorium on Sunday.
WE organised the program to honor the women freedom fighters for their contributions in the Liberation War.
Chaired by WE’s head of executives Sharifa Bulbul, the program was attended by justice S M Mujibur Rahman as the chief guest.
Ex-Member of Parliament and poet Quazi Rosy, Bangladesh Nari Sangbadik Kendra’s president Nasimun Ara Minu, Bangladesh Mohila Awami League’s cultural affairs president Rokeya Prachi and poet-teacher Jharna Rahman were present at the program as its special guests.
Those honoured at the programme are freedom fighters Rizia Begum, Lutfa Begum, Razia Begum, Nurjahan Begum, Rong Mala, Sabiha Begum, Swarnalata Faliya, Anowara Begum, Nazma Begum and Rezia Begum.
