Left-arm spinner Nasum Ahmed said, ” We have to excel in any wicket.” Nasum Ahmed played the key role for the victory against Australia and New Zealand in the five-match Twenty20 International (T20I) series respectively. Nasum Ahmed captured eight wickets each against the touring Australia and New Zealand at home.
It may be mentioned that Bangladesh play against Australia and New Zealand in slow and turning wicket, which helped the spinners. So, it was a normal matter that the spinners shone with the cherry in those series. But, the wickets of the ICC T20 Cricket World Cup have every possibility that those wickets will be sporting pitches and the spinners will not get extra advantage from those pitches.
Nasum Ahmed said, ” I think there is no challenge in Oman and United Arab Emirates. We have to perform well in any wicket. We shall try our level best to perform well there. I hope we can show positive approach there.”
Bangladesh Cricket team will leave the city Oman tomorrow to play the ICC T20 Cricket World Cup qualifiers. Meanwhile, ace all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan and ‘Cutter Boy’ Mustafizur Rahman are staying United Arab Emirates as they take part in Indian Premier League (IPL). Nasum Ahmed thinks he will get idea about the wickets and conditions of UAE from them.
Nasum Ahmed said, ” They have been staying UAE for a long time. We shall get idea of the wickets of UAE from them.”
Before reaching UAE, Bangladesh team will play their match of the ICC T20 Cricket World Cup qualifiers in Oman. Nasum said, ” We have to adapt with the conditions and wicket of Oman by hook or crook. We have to win the matches and we have to show positive approaches.”
