 Finance Minister AH Mustafa Kamal speaking at a meeting on the occasion of the 9th death anniversary of Awami League Presidium member Ataur Rahman Khan Kaiser on Wednesday. Finance Minister AH Mustafa Kamal has said, “We are living the dream of the Father of the Nation, we are working for economic emancipation. We are committed. The Prime Minister is inspiring us. “
He said this while addressing the chief guest at the 9th death anniversary of Awami League Presidium member Ataur Rahman Khan Kaiser on Wednesday. The finance minister said that, “We are going through turmoil. Mismatch, that wasn’t supposed to happen, I believe that what is happening now will be cut off.”
He said, “The people of Chattogram still love Kaiser. I can’t be like him. I was a student of Chattogram Commerce College. I used to be a member of Chatro League. I still think I am a member of the Chatro League. We used to won in the Students Parliament of City College and Commerce College students.
He said, “Kaiser was a great man. He has sacrificed his life for the welfare of the people. I ate at his house at night and launch at his office. In the sixties, Korea’s situation was worse than ours. After World War II, Korea was divided. There was no food in their houses. There was no school. Their mothers used to send their children to school by selling golden hair. After 30 years, they have became a prosperous country.
Awami League Central Deputy Publicity Secretary Aminul Islam was the special guest chaired by Chattogra City Awami League acting president Mahatab Uddin Chowdhury. Aminul Islam said there is no pill in the world that can turn a person to a politician. Not much can be said on the TV screen. If we listen to the remembrance of late leaders, read Bangabandhu’s book ‘Unfinished Autobiogra-phy’, we can learn the ideal.
“We are destroying the achievements of Sheikh Hasina. Our marginal leaders say on Facebook excellently, leaders are doing politics to earn money; workers are spending to sustain the party.
Chattogram City Awami League Vice-President Naimuddin Chowdhury, Khorshed Alam Sujan, Altaf Hossain Bachchu, North District General Secretary MA Salam, Joint Secretary Badiul Alam, South District Vice-Presidents Md Idris, Northern District Joint Secretary Abul Kalam Azad.
MA Salam said Kaiser was not involved in grouping. He tried to reconcile all groups. I think I could not even imagine the development that has taken place in last 11 years. For some, his achievement is being wasted. It is our failure. The right people have to be put in the right place.
Naimuddin Chowdhury said, “If the Prime Minister has to solve all the problems, why do so many ministers need? There is distance between government and party. It is not enough to be a meritorious person, but we also have to see where is the merit is being used.”
