The World Bank (WB) will provide financial assistance of $100 million for the government to improve college education across the country.
The agreement will be inked Thursday at a function at the National Economic Council (NEC) here. Additional Secretary of Economic Relations Division (ERD) Kazi Shofiqul Azam and WB Acting Country Director Zahid Hussian will sign the pact.
Under the agreement, the WB will provide the fund for the College Education Development Project (CEDP), which aims to improve the teaching and learning environment of government and non-government colleges affiliated with the National University.
The first component of the project is designed to strengthen strategic planning and management capacity for addressing planning, governance, and management challenges.
The second component aims to improve teaching and learning environment in participating colleges for providing quality and relevant college education at the institutional level.
The third component intends to ensure sufficient system capacity for implementation of policy interventions and effective project management.
