Dhaka University (DU) Vice-Chancellor (VC) Professor Dr. AAMS Arefin Siddique on Monday sought World Bank’s (WB) cooperation to modernize its newly launched Meteorology Department.
The VC sought the support when World Bank Senior Environment Specialist Poonam Pillai paid a courtesy call on him at his office on the campus.
Poonam Pillai expressed her willingness to provide support and cooperation in this regard.
DU Meteorology Department Chairman Prof. Dr. Towhida Rashid was present at the meeting.
During the meeting, they discussed matters of mutual interest specially, climate change and disaster management issues in Bangladesh.
Professor Arefin Siddique thanked the World Bank representative for her visit to Dhaka University.
