WB President visits Barisal

World Bank President Jim Yong Kim expressing satisfaction over the development assured to more help for Bangladesh.
The WB president on Tuesday morning arrived Barisal by helicopter for a short visit at WB funded projects in Rakudia of Babuganj and Vorshakathi of Wazirpur upazila under Barisal district.
The projects were under implementation by Social Development Foundation (SDF) since 2012 and its chairman NI Chowdhury with stakeholders attended the programmes of the WB chaiman greeted by local people.
During visiting Dakkhin Rakudia Gram Samity WB president heard the experience of beneficiaries like Sheuli Begum, Sonia Begum and talked with journalists.
Jim Yong Kim said he experienced that people of Bangladesh are hardworking. Such industrious people could change their condition in that way without any drawback.
He expressing his satisfaction about experiences of the stakeholders said WB will give more help and investment for development of Bangladesh.
WB president also visiting cyclone center cum primary school and solar electricity stucture at the house of Manataz Begum in Vorshakathi village under Wazirpur upazila.
He also planted a coconut sapling at the school ground.
The WB president came Barisal at 8:30 am by helicopter and departed for Dhaka at 11:30.
