Chittagong Bureau :Newly – elected city mayor AJM Nasir Uddin reiterated his election pledge to solve the longstanding waterlogging in the city . He said this problem is not a major one for me and I am committed to mitigate the problems very shortly alongwith keeping the city with neat and clean in all respects.The disclosed it while addressing the mass reception held at Laldighi Maidan on Thursday evening arranged by the Nagarik Reception Council . He said dirty and uncleaned port city is the major problems of the city and we are getting bad affects of cleanliness in 365 days of the year but waterlogging is a seasonal problems which may occurred 4 to 5 days in a year. So we will go to give importance on cleanliness of the city as well as waterlogging within short possible times.He also dissatisfies over the exaggerated media reports over the waterlogging .Newly elected Mayor also disclosed that in the meantime , he exchanged views with the 4 departments of CCC for immediate mitigating the ongoing problems of the city. Vice Chancellor of Chittagong University and Convenor of Nagarik Reception Parisad Dr. Anowarul Azim Arif presided over it while the joint convenor Ahid Siraj and Member Secretary Kalim Sarwar were present in it among others.Mentionable that newly elected 41 general ward councilors and 14 female ward councilors were also given reception in the function, sources said.
