It creates untold sufferings for people of the area.
House owners remain vigilant in whole night to pump water into their reservoirs from the supply pipes.
House owners from Gandaria aeas of old Dhaka said that pipes of Dhaka Water Supply and Sewerage Authority (WASA) cannot do the service as needed.
That is why they (house owners), have failed to provide water to their tenants in time.
“My motor which is used as water pump, has been burned when I ignited the swath on to lift water in the overhead tank,” said Abdullah Sheikh a house owner of Gandaria.
He said like him many more among the house owners of the area are similarly sufferings from sufficient water shortages in the part of the old Dhaka.
“At least three water pumps from neighbouring houses in the very same areas, were burnt for the same reason. Water pumps are burnt due to its utmost pressures to pump water into the houses’ underground and overhead tankly, but it failed to, the house owner said, with sad mind that water supply from WASA is not encouraging.
