An agreement titled “Vacuum Tank Handover and Lease Agreement Signing” was signed between Dhaka WASA and Water and Sanitation for Urban Poor (WSUP) on Thursday to ensure healthy sanitation services to slum dwellers and other residents of the capital.
Dhaka WASA Managing Director Engineer TaqsemA Khan presided over the signing ceremony. The agreement was signed by Uttam Kumar Roy, Commercial Manager, Dhaka WASA and Abdus Shahid, Country Program Manager, WSUP Bangladesh.
In addition, three more separate agreements were signed at the event, where Mir Mehedi Hossain, Senior Community Officer, Dhaka WASA, and Dr. Dibalok Singh, Executive Director, Dushthya Shashthya Kendra(DSK), ShahaminaAlam, proprietor of Healthy Tank BD and Prabir Dutta, Managing Director of Lily’s Family Limited, signed the agreements separately.
It may be mentioned that WSUP Bangladesh has handed over a total of 5 vacuum tanks to Dhaka WASA, with which the three NGOs will work to ensure hygienic sanitation services.
