Arson case: Warrants aganist Selima, 13 other BNP men

The Metropolitan Sessions Judge’s Court of Dhaka on Thursday issued arrest warrant against 14 BNP leaders and activists, including Vice Chairman Selima Rahman, in a case filed with Pallabi Police Station under the Special Power Act.
Judge Kamrul Hossain Mollah of the court took cognizance of the case passed the order of warrant. The case was filed on the charge of violence.
Other BNP leaders include- Shamsur Rahman Shimul Biswas, Personal Assistant to BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia and Maruf Kamal Khan Sohel, Press Secretary to the BNP Chief. BNP leaders Barrister Rafiqul Islam Mia and four others secured bail in the case. Besides, BNP Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi is now in the jail.
On February, 2, last year, a vehicle was set on fire in front of Appayan Community Centre in Pallabi area of the capital during the BNP-led 20-party alliance sponsored non-stop blockade.
