The Women and Children Repression and Prevention Tribunal-5 of Dhaka on Sunday issued warrant of arrest for the six witnesses including complainant, journalist Khandaker Mozammel Haque and Magistrate Snigdha Rani Chakraborty in the case filed against cricketer Shahadat Hossain and his wife Jesmine Jahan Nitto for torturing their domestic help.
Magistrate Snigdha Rani is a Magistrate of the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) Court of Dhaka, who had
recorded the depositions of the victim, Mahfuza Akhter Happy. On April 10, the court fixed April 24 to record the depositions of the witnesses, however, none of the witnesses were present in the court on Sunday.
