The Metropolitan Sessions Judge’s Court of Dhaka on Wednesday issued warrant for the arrest of Syeda Iqbal Mand Banu, mother-in-law of BNP Senior Vice Chairman Tarique Rahman.
Judge Md Quamrul Hossain Molla of the court issued the warrant yesterday in a case filed by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).
The case docket says, Syeda Iqbal Mand Banu has been made accused in a case filed against her on the charge of not submitting her wealth statement to the ACC.
Meanwhile, the court has taken into cognizance the charge sheet of the case and issued the warrant,
the ACC lawyer Mir Ahmed Ali, told newsmen. The ACC filed the case with Ramna Model Police Station, against Syeda Iqbal Mand Banu on January 30, 2014.
The ACC source says, the case was filed after, Iqbal Mand Banu failed to submit the her wealth statement to the ACC. They submitted the charge sheet of the case on January 19, last year.
