Blankets were distributed among the distressed children to protect them from the sweeping cold bite in Rajshahi organised by Lady’s Organization for Social Welfare (LOFS), a development and human rights organization, provided on Monday .
Some 20 children got the blankets in assistance with Bangabandhu -Bangladesh NGO Foundation (BNF) Education Programme to mark the Mujib Borsho at its office Conference Hall.
BNF Chairman Hedayetullah Al Mamun attended the distribution ceremony as chief guest, while LOFS Vice chairman Azizur Rahman spoke as special guest with LOFS Executive Director Shahanaz Parveen in the chair.
The meeting was told that around 100 underprivileged children will be given blankets during the current winter season on behalf of the organization.
Sylhet Bureau reports : A social organization of Dakshin Surma Tarikun Nesha Foundation distributed winter clothes among helpless poor and cold-hit people in Dakshin Surma upazila of Sylhet district recently. On this occasion, winter clothes were distributed to a program organized by the Tarikun Nesha Foundation at Kingdom Parti Center of the Moglabazar.
Former Assistant Attorney General of Bangladesh Suprime Court and General Secretary of Bangladesh Athletics Federation Advocate Abdur Rakib Montu was present as the chief guest. He said on the occassion it is the duty of all rich people to help the disadvantaged and destitute in the society. We all have to cooperate with others as much as we can. He said that the socio-economic condition of the country is improving due to the sincerity of the government as well as our expatriates.
A variety of winter clothes were distributed to 350 local women, children and the elderly with the financial support of UK Expatriate Social Worker and Chairman of Tarikun Nesha Foundation Suhel Ali. Chairman of the Moglabazar Union Parishad Fakhrul Islam Saista addressed the function as a special guest. Matiur Rahman, representative of Bangladesh team of the foundation presided over the function.

The winter clothes were distributed among hundreds of helpless poor people on Tuesday morning at the initiative of Tarash Sadar Union Parishad. UNO Mezbaul Karim was present as the Chief Guest during the distribution of winter clothes under the chairmanship of UP Chairman Babul Sheikh.
