Blankets were distribute among some one hundred cold stricken people of the localities in a ceremony under the auspices of Bagerhat branch of Anjuman Mofidul Islam at its office premises near Noor mosque in Bagerhat Town on Thursday morning.
Prof. ABM. Mosharraf Husain, an educationist, former president of Bagerhat Press Club and Bagerhat based district correspondent the Daily New Nation was present as the Chief Guest while Joynal Abedin, President of the organization presided over the function. On the occasion Joynal Abedin, General Secretary, Engineer Md. Abdur Rahman, Treasurer and journalist Shamsur Rahman were present were special guests.
Borhanuddin (Bhola) Correspondent reports: Winter clothes were distributed among 500 poor families in Borhanuddin Municipality of Bhola from the Prime Minister’s Relief Fund. Mayor of the Municipality Rafiqul Islam Chief Guest and Upazila Executive Officer Saifur Rahman was present as a special guest and handed over the blankets to the victims on Wednesday.
Panel Mayor Harun-ur-Rashid presided over the distribution of winter clothes. Mayor Rafiqul Islam, UNO Saifur Rahman, Assistant Commissioner (Land) Shoaib Ahmad, Municipal Executive Engineer A. Sattar, Upazila Project Implementation Officer Sohail Hossain, Municipal Secretary Pranoy Kumar Saha and others. Municipal councilors, officials and employees were present at that time.
Gafargaon (Mymensingh) Correspondent says: In Gafargaon, Mymensingh, under the initiative of Anti-Corruption Committee (Duprak), winter blankets have been distributed among the victims.
A discussion meeting was organized on the occasion of the distribution of winter blankets at the Duprak office on Monday.
Gafargaon Upazila Branch Duprak President Dr. KM Ehsan, Advocate presided over and General Secretary Rafiqul Basar chaired the discussion meeting. Principal of Gafargaon Government College Md. Adv Dr. KM Ehsan said every year they provide various assistance including distribution of blankets among the people suffering from cold. In its continuation, blankets have also been distributed this winter.
BSS from Rangpur adds: Rangpur Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) distributed 500 blankets among cold-stricken low-income group poor and helpless people on Wednesday at a ceremony on RCCI Public School and College ground in the city.
The RCCI distributed the blankets among cold-hit people under its Corporate Social Responsibility programs to mitigate their sufferings.
President of RCCI Mostafa Sohrab Chowdhury Titu with Directors and other executives and officials of the Board of Directors of the business body distributed the blankets.
On the occasion, the RCCI President called upon businesspersons, different trade bodies, charity and voluntary organizations and financial institutions and affluent people to stand beside cold-hit people of Rangpur region.
